FAQs

Which program should I start with?

For most runners, the 6-week resistance training program will be appropriate. It will walk you through base movements and challenge key muscle groups.

If you are brand new to strength training or if you don't have access to weights, the body weight and resistance band program is a good place to start.

Can I do all of these programs at the same time?

Yes! However, we recommend staying consistent with either the strength training program or the body weight and resistance band program.

The core workouts can be added at the end of any strength session.

Do I need a gym membership?

Nope! But you will likely need access to free weights.

Dumbbells or kettlebells are ideal, but we also provide at home alternatives if you don't have weights available.

The body weight and resistance band program can be a good substitute for traditional weight training if all you have is a resistance band.

Should I start this program if I have a race coming up?

It depends.

If the race is less than 6 weeks away and you are new to strength training, it's usually best to not add in new components to your training program.

However, if your race is more than 2 months away, strength training can be a great addition!

What if I only have time for 2 workouts per week?

That's okay!

Ignore the "week" and "day" labels, and perform the workouts in order.

For example, your second week of workouts would be labeled in the program as "week 1/day 3" & "week 2/day 1."
